3ALITY? How cool is that. I will be waiting for this, thanks! U2 is still the best concert I've ever seen. I hope I can wait that long!

Agreed. I would definitely put U2 in the top 3 shows I have ever seen.

Where and when did you see them? And who were the other two? Wow, I'm not sure I could pick #2 and #3. I'll have to think on that...

They (U2) were here in Houston for the Pop tour (mid 90s I guess). We (my wife, her brother, Chris and I) had 3rd row seats right in front of Bono. It was a great show.

Some of my other time favorites and I saw alot of bands during the 80s -

Neil Diamond, believe it or not, I saw him a couple of times. He gives a great show.

KISS, my very first concert when I was 15, saw them a couple of times too, they put on a great show.

And Harry Chapin. I got to see Harry 8 times I think before his death in 1981. Great shows. Great man.

I can't really rank those but they are my favorites.

I'm jealous you were so close to Bono! I saw them way back in 1987 at the 3 Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh with, of all bands, Los Lobos opening. I hated them then but like them ok now.
My first concert was Grand Funk Railroad. I was 13 and I fell in love with the smell of weed without knowing what it was. Ha!
Some of my favorites were the Cars, Styx, John "Cougar", Rod Stewart, Journey, (Steve Perry singing Wheel in the Sky was one of my top life moments) and Fleetwood Mac several times. I know I'm missing a lot, but those are some of my more memorable concerts. I've seen a lot of country artists too, but anymore, its hard for me to consider them artists. If there is one band that I didn't see that I wish I had, I think it would have to be the Replacements. And Led Zeppelin.

Los Lobos was around in '87?

Yeah I remember getting picked up by my folks after that KISS concert and my stepfather saying that I smelt like burning rope.

Styx opened for KISS that year and they had a good show. I have always liked Styx even though I don't think I ever owned any of their records. I saw Rod Stewart in the Blondes Have More Fun tour. I was right in front of the stage, got some pretty good pics. Good show. I did see Fleetwood Mac once and the Stones once. I never got to see LZ either, wish I would have. I did go see Prince during the Purple Rain tour, it was alot of fun. And I saw David Sanborn and Al Jarreau outside in the middle of a hot Houston summer but it was a perfect night with a little breeze and the jazz sounded great. Anyway, I got to see all the big bands in the early 80s. Good times.
Oh I did get to see the Ramones one time in a really small place, that was a blast.

The Ramones!!! How cool was that? I bet that was grrreat.
I started thinking about all the bands and acts I've seen. I need to write them down before I get any more senile and can't remember any more (damn second-hand weed, ha!)
Prince and the Stones are two others I would have liked to see.
I have a scrapbook somewhere filled with ticket stubs, stickers and concert souvenirs. I should dig that out.

Ah, Marc. Wouldn't it be fun to go back and relive all those times? Most of them, anyway...

I remember before I was old enough to go to concerts, I would stay up late on the weekends and watch Midnight Special and Don Kirshner's Rock Concerts. I'd love to see some of those too.

Forgot to say, yeah, Los Lobos was. Their big song was "La Bamba" which I hated with a passion. I sat with my fingers in my ears humming loudly to drown them out...

And my first (Grand Funk) concert, I travelled on a bus to the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh sponsored by our school's Student Council. It was basically me and a bunch of burnt-out junior and senior guys. Fun :-)
